Hiking Old Rag

I hiked Old Rag on Sunday. I have been anxious about this hike because there is so much build up online about how tough it is and how exhausted you’ll be. I was worried about not being able to finish it or getting too tired through and struggling.

Long story short, the hike was fantastic. I see why it is so popular. The uphill section is the perfect grade to give you a good workout but not feel overwhelmed that it’ll never end (2400 ft never ends). The rock scramble at the top is challenging enough to be fun. The views are great at the top. It is completely unobstructed and you can see forever on a clear day. We hiked down via the fire road, and it was not nearly as interesting, but we did 5 miles, 2400ft, in an hour and forty minutes.
